About me

Hi, I’m Jason Newborg

I spent 20 years in the Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Like a lot of military families, my wife and I have had to figure out how to manage money through moves, changing income, raising a family, planning for retirement, and preparing for life after the military.

I also earned a degree in Financial Services and Planning, but most of what shapes the way I teach money today is pretty simple: spend intentionally, keep enough cash for the things life throws at you, invest consistently in low-cost diversified funds, and avoid making finances more complicated than they need to be.

That’s why I created Live True Financial.

My goal is to help military members and their families better understand their money, build a realistic plan, and feel more prepared for the financial decisions ahead.

Here you’ll find practical education on budgeting, saving, investing, military benefits, and preparing for military retirement.

And for those getting close to retirement, I created Your Military Retirement Money Plan to help bring all of those pieces together into a clear plan for the transition out of the military.

I’m not here to sell complicated investments or tell you there’s one perfect way to manage your money. I want to help you understand your options, simplify the decisions, and build a plan that works for your family.
